PREPARE YOUR KIDS AHEAD OF TIME Prepare your children for injections through play and reading books. Kids want to know what to expect at their vaccine appointment. Don't tell them it won't hurt but let them know it may pinch for a second and then it will be over.	PERSONALIZE YOUR NEEDLE BUDDY The Needle Buddy hides the syringe and needle so that the child doesn't see that scary needle. CHILDREN TAKE THEIR CUES FROM YOU Watch your facial expressions, if you are scared they will be too.
NUMB THE SKIN INJECTIONS HURT! Numbing the skin will temporarily reduce and block pain from the jab. Apply an ice pack for a few minutes before and after the injection. This also serves as another distraction since their skin will be nice and cold. Over the counter anaesthetic creams and patches are also available from your local pharmacy.	COMFORT POSITIONING & DISTRACTION Have your child sit in a position that is the most comfortable for them. Don't hold them down and restrain them. Age appropriate distraction really helps your child to relax and experience less anxiety. Blowing bubbles, holding their favourite toy or an electronic device are all great ideas.	USE A NEEDLE BUDDY!
